I was having a much better day today. I was more cheered up. And then……….
So remember I told you about this? The same exact thing happened again today. Same. Exact. Thing. A man who spoke with me on the phone over a month ago said he liked my resume and after we talked said he would like to interview me in two weeks when he got back to Phoenix. This is for a Training Manager position at a well known company. An old colleague of mine even recommended me to him.
Two weeks go by…. nothing. So I sent him a gentle reminder email. He ignored it. Two more weeks go by so I sent him another email, more detailed refreshing his memory about my qualifications and that he and I discussed setting up an interview.
Today he writes back that he has two internal candidates that he will interview and if neither of them makes it then he’ll look externally. He didn’t even say me, he said “externally.”
Um…. does this seem really jacked up or is it just me? If you tell someone you are going to interview them and have them fill out paperwork, don’t you really think you should keep your word and follow through?
